What is Immune Defense Shield?
Immune Defense Shield is a ROOT capsule that combines vitamins, a mineral, a flavonoid and a coenzyme in one daily serving. You may know it by its former name, Mitochondria Defense Shield; the formula is sold today under the new name. Like all ROOT products, it is a food supplement. The name is a brand name and is not a promise of any health effect.
It's a one-capsule-a-day product, which makes it one of the easiest ROOT items to add to an existing routine.
Ingredients
According to ROOT's Supplement Facts label, one capsule (631 mg) provides:
- Vitamin C: 500 mg (555% Daily Value)
- Vitamin D (as cholecalciferol): 80 mcg / 3,200 IU (400% Daily Value)
- Vitamin K (as menaquinone-4): 80 mcg (66% Daily Value)
- Magnesium (from magnesium oxide): 50 mg (12% Daily Value)
- Sea salt (as SolarSea AC): 25 mg
- Quercetin: 50 mg
- β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD): 6 mg
Other ingredients: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (capsule).
ROOT's product text also refers to OmniMin™ AC trace minerals; the current label lists the trace-mineral source as SolarSea AC sea salt.
How to use
ROOT's label says: take 1 capsule a day.
- Take it at the same time each day, for example with breakfast, so it becomes routine.
- One serving provides a high amount of vitamin D. If you take other products with vitamin D, vitamin C or vitamin K, check your total intake with your healthcare professional.
- Vitamin K can interact with some medications, particularly blood thinners. If you take any medication, talk to your doctor before use.
Who is it for?
Immune Defense Shield is for adults who want several nutrients in a single daily capsule instead of multiple bottles. It suits people who prefer capsules to powders or drops. If you are pregnant or nursing, take medication or have a medical condition, talk to your healthcare professional before use.
